Course Date: 31/03/2020

Tuesday 31st March 2020

10.00 AM - 2.30 PM

Penelope, our Greek tutor, returns to Honesty, to introduce a menu of classic Greek dishes that feature on Sunday tables and family celebration meals, making the most of the wide range of fresh seasonal produce available to the home cook.

Greek cuisine includes a variety of stuffed vegetable dishes and rolls and uses pulses and herbs generously to produce flavoursome main dishes and substantial salads that form the staples of family meals in Greece.

Join us on this course to gain an understanding of the flavour profiles and techniques involved in producing these traditional Greek dishes at home:

  • Oven baked feta mezze with onion and herbs
  • Lahanosalata – a crunchy slaw quite unlike those normally served here
  • Mavromatika salad – fragrant, tangy black-eyed bean salad with herbs that pairs well with any Greek dish
  • Lahanodolmades – a rustic dish of stuffed cabbage leaves with avgolemono sauce

You will also learn about the regional variations of these dishes and come away with recipes to allow you to experiment at home.

Bring a taste of Greece into your home cooking repertoire and impress your family and friends with these lesser known, authentic recipes.

The stuffed cabbage leaves can be made with or without meat - hence this course can caters for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. Please state your preference when booking on.
